Lit Riot Press is looking for talented writers, journalists, bloggers, brands, and podcasters to submit book proposals to our open submission call for nonfiction works. We have open submissions running for the following projects: Nonfiction Works, Memoir, and Podcast+ Books.
Lit Riot Press is an independent book publisher based in Brooklyn, NY. We publish books by establishing authors and also give voice to those who are new to the world of book publishing. We place an emphasis on early-stage development and publication of nonfiction works that are informative, smart, and engaging. Outstanding books connected to a diverse and global community of readers. We have great books on 2020-2022 development and publishing roadmap, a catalog of nonfiction covering topics under the humanities, culture, pop culture, race, gender, LGBTQ, and contemporary social and political movements. Nonfiction Books Submissions
Nonfiction Books: We are accepting long-form nonfiction or nonfiction collections.
Memoir: We are accepting long-form Memoirs or Memoirs that are a collection of writings, think “Memoir in Essays”.
Podcast+ Books: Based on your podcast. A blended mix of author editorial and podcast transcript material.
Short Nonfiction Book Submissions
Short Nonfiction Books: Shorter than a full-length nonfiction work, typically between 35,000 and 40,000 words published at 5x8 format at 125-150 pages.
Please note: we are currently only accepting Short Nonfiction Book submissions from writers and authors living in the New York Metropolitan area. We will be expanding to other cities in 2020 and 2021.

For all submissions, please include additional information on the submission form if it will help us understand your book proposal concept. We are most interested in getting a feel for the subject matter of your project. Perfect presentation isn’t as important as strong content Please note that because of the volume of proposals we receive we cannot individually acknowledge them. If we like the sound of a proposal, then we will reply to you within thirty (30) days. If you have not heard from us after thirty (30) days then we are unable to take your project forward.
